About Me
Program Analyst, Life Enthusiast
Though I am pursuing a career in data, it was not a straight shot to get here.
I grew up in Springfield, IL and though it was a pleasant childhood, I knew I wanted more.
A couple years after graduating high school. I joined the United States Navy and became part of the elite submarine family. I was stationed on the USS Maryland SSBN 738 Blue Crew and remained there until I left the military in 2013.
After leaving the Navy, I worked on the Government Cloud team at Amazon Web Services in their data centers.
Amazon reignited a need to learn and pursue my education and so I enrolled at the Catholic University of America in the Biomedical Engineering Department.
Going back to school can be quite expensive and so after a successful internship at Children's National Medical Center I made my way to working for Fujifilm Medical Systems as an Imaging Field Service Engineer. I had a couple year long experience there and would have been happy to stay except there was not much room for upward growth and development.
Because of this, I found out through a friend about the General Assembly, Washington, D.C. Data Science Immersive program and the potential success a bootcamp style program can offer. I graduated and landed a wonderful position as a Senior Quantitative Analyst with a government contracting group called Pivotal Insight where I stayed for a year until the contract landscape changed.
Looking for job stability during the pandemic, I accepted a position with another contracting group called Bennett Aerospace, Inc. working as a Program Analyst IV with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) which is where I am presently employed.
I recently bought a home in Fredricksburg, VA and so I am back on the job hunt looking for something that will allow me to stay local to my new home or allow for full remote work status.
